United States Army Center of Military History. 3 August 2009)In 1954, Congress made the change to Veterans Day, the official federal holiday to honor armed service veterans.
On this day, I hope you will take the time to reflect upon the sacrifices of the men and women of our country's military because if not for them, we would not live in the greatest country in the world or enjoy the freedoms we so take for granted. I especially want to remember and thank my dad and uncles and father-in-law who fought in WWII. If not for them, our lives would be so totally different. They are the Greatest Generation.
